Here it is Thursday and I’m home instead of outside painting. The weather refused to cooperate with us this week… but here it is 9:46 a.m., we decided to cancel at 7:45 a.m. because it was raining buckets and radar showed there was more headed out way; and NOW the sun is out. Go figure.
But I’ve been working this week. I’ve been putting some dedicated hours in on a new pastel painting. I hope to have it finished either today or tomorrow and will have lots of progress shot when I get it posted.
On Monday I went to the drawing group at RAL that started meeting again last week after the summer break. We had a lovely model named Beth. My warm up sketch seen below didn’t make me very happy. I need to study more and work harder on getting proportions correct. But I’m pretty happy with the portrait sketch above.
Both were done on grey paper. The full body sketch is in charcoal and conte crayon. The portrait is charcoal, graphite and white conte crayon.
