For me 2021 was not as taxing as 2020, but 2021 sure offered more then total lockdown. As a fully vaccinated person, I feel a bit more relaxed about venturing out and have spent time volunteering at the RAL Art Center in Kilmarnock… I would say it really has been my entire social life for… Continue reading As We Enter the New Year: 2022
Well, it’s getting interesting out there. As COVID-19 is spreading rapidly across the U.S. and the stock market is eating itself alive, a lot of artists, including me, are standing back in shock. For many, we are just beginning to get our feet under us again in a serious way following the financial debacle of… Continue reading All Our Vulnerabilities
I got an email today letting me know that the Sheltering Arms Art Selection Committee has selected one of my painting submissions for purchase. It will be displayed at their new rehabilitation facility in Richmond, Virginia scheduled to open in June. Needless to say, I’m psyched! Beach Passage has found a new home.
I delivered my paintings for the Colonial Williamsburg People and Places show at the Stewart Gallery today. I hung around long enough to take a couple of photos as the gals there were deciding where and how to hang them all. Can’t wait until Friday evening to see the whole show. Bob Carlson has some amazing… Continue reading Paintings Going Up In the Gallery
I don’t normally make a list of New Year’s Goals, but I have seen how making goals (i.e. a To-Do List) does seem to help me stay on track and I accomplish more with a list then I do without one. I should also probably pull together a vision board as a visually oriented person,… Continue reading 2020 Hopes and Goals

I have posted, so far, all of my paintings as they have been completed and in many cases included progress shots. But, after thinking about this and talking to other artists, I realized… Continue reading Building Suspense: Motivation to See it in Person
I was invited Thursday to participate in a two-person show at the Stewart Gallery in Gloucester, VA in May! I am deeply honored and very excited and scared to death all at the same time. The theme will be Colonial Williamsburg. My partner in this event will be announced at a future date, but if… Continue reading Stewart Gallery in May!
I’m deeply honored and humbled to have been awarded The People’s Choice Award from the “Shades of Green” Exhibit at the Stewart Gallery on Main Street in Gloucester. Thank you to all who voted! The Nest is still available for sale. Just send me a message or leave a comment.
I learned that three more of my bird paintings have found a new home. Bye-bye birdies!
I’m taking the plunge again this year and will teach a few classes at the RAL Art Center on Main Street in Kilmarnock. The first class is for everyone who thinks they haven’t got an artistic bone in their body but are willing to just let images just appear with a little bit of guidance.… Continue reading Teaching Drawing and Other Stuff
