Waiting in the Wings

The photo has a bit of glare off the wet dark paint around the head of the nearest dancer, but I think you can get the idea.

Original Photo by Maria Kauffman

And here are a few close ups of their faces:

I was really surprised at how quickly it came together in the end. I thought I had at least another two days of painting, but the last two girls just kept me working for a long successful day.

This painting will go up for sale at the RAL Art Center in Kilmarnock, VA. in January. It will be displayed in a gold plein aire style frame. It is 16×20 inches. It is on stretched oil ground linen. Price is $1100.

  1. Good luck on selling it. I haven’t sold one in a while, but haven’t tried either.
