Finished, Sold, and Started
I have decided that the female cardinal is finished. It is a companion piece to the male cardinal head and shoulders piece I completed about a week ago.

The Stewart Gallery on Main Street in Gloucester, hosted a lovely artist reception yesterday evening for their “Little Gems” Show. And here I am with my seven little bird paintings:
Kauffman Studios has been on the Northern Neck Artisan Trail for nearly a year. In the coming year I hope to become a juried member of the Trail System. I learned yesterday evening during a meet and greet of the Northern Neck (NNK) Artisan Trail members at Good Luck Winery, that it is possible for… Continue reading Northern Neck Artisan Trail

I currently have put three paintings in the RAL Art Center where I rent a little wall space. RAL Art Center on Main Street in Kilmarnock, VA is one of those special places that supports local artists by allowing us to have the option to display our work for sale.\ Locally, there are almost no… Continue reading RAL Art Center now…

I love doing my volunteer time as the Day Manager at the RAL Art Center. I really do. It gives me a unique opportunity to interact with folks who come in off the street who want to see quality art. I enjoy the interaction and trying to help art lovers find just the right piece… Continue reading When Folks Love the Painting But Don’t Take it Home…

I like the idea of selling via the internet with Facebook, Instagram and other options; but unless one is pretty well known as an artist, most… Continue reading Northern Neck Artisan Trail
COVID 19 has thrown a lot of folks for a loop. Staying home, food shortages, boredom, and generally questioning how we live our lives has caused a lot of folks to start looking at how to become more self-sustaining. This site will include a wide variety of things including how to cook from scratch (really, really scratch) and create a garden in hot & humid Virginia, our adventures in turning a shed into a chicken coop, and working with an old orchard that produces an abundance of ugly but perfectly edible fruit. And how to do all this with just two of us old geezers (I'll be 61 in June 2020 and my husband is older).
