We have just one more class with Doug Mock for the Beginner’s Watercolor at RAL Art Center. I jumped ahead and for the most part completed the painting for which Doug provided a photo. Having got ahead, I ended up forgetting about the color map and planning notes and ended up with a fairly jumbled painting. Parts are good, parts not so much. But I did learn from the experience.
For my next painting I decided to work from one of my own photos. This is one I’ve looked at for a long time. I just couldn’t figure out how to handle it in pastel or oil and just kept it in my photo reference collection.

In any case, here is how it has turned out. So far. There may be a few minor adjustments later. But I did create a plan and worked out my colors before hand and I’m pretty happy with it. What do you think?
