I had a visitor to the studio yesterday for the Second Saturday Open House as part of the Northern Neck Artisan Trail.

Turns out Jenny and I had met at the Mid-Atlantic Pastel Society and she has been following me on Facebook. She is also in the yoga class that I started taking this past week.

It was really fun to have a fellow artist visit for a bit.

I took a few bird photos and I showed her how I manipulate the images in Photoshop before I commit the images to a painting. In other words, I work out a lot of the compositional questions before I ever take the picture into the studio. It just makes my life easier, I think.
