My husband and I visited with his brother, Bob, at Rockaway Beach in Oregon last year and every morning and evening I took a short walk to the beach where I took a bunch of photos. While looking back through all my painting reference photos the other day, I realized that an Oregon sunset at Rockaway Beach looks a lot like a Virginia beach at dawn.
This is the largest painting I have tackled since leaving VCU’s School of Fine Arts back in 1979! It is 30 x 30 inches on canvas. It’s also my first completed painting for 2019.

I also need to note another milestone. I was alerted yesterday by WordPress that I now have over 50 followers of this blog. I am amazed and grateful for the interest from everyone. Thank you, thank you!
