Belle Isle State Park has a lot going for it. They have camping and horseback riding trails and fishing docks and kayak and canoe launches (I think you can even rent bikes and kayaks). They also have some outstanding conservation areas where you can see many, many birds. Last Winter I took a walk with some birding friends and while there took some pretty nice landscape reference photos.
Here is one of the resulting paintings. It is oil on a panel and measures 11 high by 14 wide.
I’ve included some close up photos as well so you can see some of the brushwork. You should be able to click on them to see them larger.
