Samhain is our own cat. He was rescued as a kitten with his brother, Jack, from a dumpster behind the building where I used to work. They were both rescued on Halloween Day. Jack was a long-haired orange tabby who died about a year later having gotten into something toxic on his touring about our new home and probably the neighborhood as was his habit at our old home.

In any case, it seemed appropriate to add Samhain (which is a Gaelic term for an ancient Pagan Festival when the veil is thin between this world and the afterlife… and is currently our Halloween) to my collection of rescued cats painting series.

As with the others in the cat series, 10% of any sale will be donated to the Northumberland Animal Shelter.
