Still working on finishing up the main colors in the body of this magnificent bird. I’m also working on getting the roundness of it’s body shape in place. And there are some drawing issues I need to work out.
Pulled in a few colors from the bird into the background. Will likely next tackle more of the surrounding landscape to make sure the bird sits into it correctly. There can be reflected light and color from the background that the camera didn’t capture that I know is there because I saw the bird with my own two eyes. Feathers, I’m learning, are sort of iridescent and it helps the birds with their camouflage. These big herons may not have problems presented by similarly or smaller sized birds (like eagles or osprey) but foxes might grab an opportunity if it presents itself.
Good moring! I’ve nominated you for the Sunshine Blogger Award. Details: https://writesquire.com/2018/12/10/sunshine-blogger-award/
