I painted a second painting on Thursday, this time I set myself down on the front porch and decided to focus on staying as loose as I could and capturing temperature.
We got a short visit from a couple of does and a fawn with spots, but Lucy (the dog) was too alarmed by these four-legged visitors to stay quiet and the does bolted back up the mountain and the fawn leaped into the underbrush from where I’m sure it’s mother retrieved it later when the coast was clear of dogs.
Later, a huge turkey ventured up towards the house from the creek crossing but again, Miss Lucy became alarmed at this non-human visitor and the turkey took off for the woods before I could get my camera on it.
But I’m happy with my painting.
