New one completed today.
I did learn from this little painting. I started it yesterday and got this far and stopped:
Not a bad place to stop for lunch or a couple hour pause, but I normally get back to a painting before the first coat has completely oxidized. I was surprised it was a dry as it had become and I did not oil in, thinking it could not be all that dry. It was and I struggled with getting the paint for the next layer to flow.
I’m not unhappy with the outcome, but I’ll remember that if I stop for any length of time, I’ll oil in (in other words, put a very thin coating of linseed oil over the whole thing before trying to add more paint).
