I’m done with this one. As mentioned before, it is quite a bit bigger than the little 6X6 inch paintings.
I rather like the abstracted elements of the overhead, sunlit leaves… The nest, which I believe I have identified as a cardinal’s nest, is messy and contained grass, sticks and bits of grapevine as well as a few leaves and an odd bit of trash. Go figure. The nest is located in a dogwood tree somewhat overrun with wild grapevine.
Because the painting is on a board cradles on 1.5 inch boards, I painted the edges black and will probably put it into a floating frame.
Now back to the birds… or maybe a squirrel or two.
