I’m trying to get ready for the Small Works Show with the Mid-Atlantic Pastel Society and decided to try and go smaller. Because I apparently do not know how to read a ruler, what I thought was going to be 6X6″ has turned out to be 7.25X7.25″ which is not the size frame or glass I have on hand. Going to try another day for a 6X6.
In any case, I’ve discovered that these glass and produce painting are a little trickier the smaller I go. This one was fun, however and I think I’ll give it another go but bigger when I’m not pressed on a deadline.
Again, it’s primarily Terry Ludwig pastels with a few pastel pencils for blending and tiny lines. It’s on Uart 500 paper mounted on foam core.
In other news, I put two oil paintings in the Rappahannock Art League Labor Day Show which opened today. I got two phone calls. The first to congratulate me for the first sale from the show. I think it opened at 10 a.m. and I got the call at 11:30 a.m. The second call came about 2 p.m. to tell me my other painting had also sold. So, these two will remain on display through the show, but I don’t have to worry about picking them up!
