Spent this morning with my friend and fellow artist down at the Reedville side of the Sunnybank Ferry. Worked on this 9X12 pastel painting of the old bait shop there. We didn’t know it was a bait shop where folks could buy bait and chum until we got to chatting with Lonnie Dodson, the ferry boat captain. Had one fellow, who was waiting for the ferry to come from the other side, stop and chat with us for a little while.
Nana took my picture while I was working a bit:
We even took a ride back and forth on the ferry. Neat place to paint. There is an osprey nest which gave me these great snaps and the hillside along the road behind us was just flaming with forsythia.
