I have taken a few of my favorite pastels into a shop that does framing and had them professionally framed. In the end, I’m happy with the work, but the cost has been prohibitively expensive.

I had two small works framed using double matts and museum glass (because I hate the glare of regular glazing) and the cost was OVER $200. When I have valued these little pastel paintings at around $50, that is a major bite into my wallet.

I have to think about this as it appears the packaging is worth more than the actual product. Do I need to raise my prices or find another way to present them in a gallery?
