CNN brought their cameras and Jake Tapper to Haynesville Correctional Center at the end of October. Turns out that on the day of the filming, I was working inside that particular housing unit helping the cognitive community of Veterans there, energize themselves for the upcoming year.

The idea was to interview several justice involved Veterans about their experiences both in and out of prison. My understanding is that Virginia is doing a pretty good job of providing treatment for these guys while incarcerated. They wanted to contrast that against what some other states are doing; which may be as little as nothing. Which, frankly, is very sad.

You may or may not see me moving around in the background working with the men who were not being interviewed. I wasn’t interviewed myself, but it was an interesting experience to watch them work. I’m curious to see how the story was edited.

We were told it would air on Veteran’s Day, November 11, 2014, between 4 and 5 p.m. EST on CNN. Let me know if you got an opportunity to watch it.
